Important Information for Future Volunteer Events Below:Volunteer forms will be available on-site for those unable to register online or for volunteers who will be bringing children. If you plan to complete forms in person, please be prepared to wait in line, complete paperwork, and check in.

Please see The Salvation Army's volunteer registration policies below.

**Volunteer Registration Process**

Anyone age 18 or older who would like to volunteer through The Salvation Army Colorado Springs Corps must register through our volunteer website: [volunteer.usawest.org](https://volunteer.usawest.org). When searching for volunteer opportunities with our Corps, please enter ZIP code **80909** to view all available opportunities.

**Volunteering with Children**

Youth ages 15–17 are welcome to volunteer with us! However, they must be accompanied and supervised by their legal parent or guardian. The parent or legal guardian must also complete the required child waiver forms on the day of volunteering.

Please check the individual event listing to confirm that youth volunteers ages 15–17 are permitted for that specific event.

Due to the high volume of activity during holiday events, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, limited workspace, and the importance of maintaining food safety, we only accept youth volunteers ages 15–17 for these opportunities.

Although we love seeing families serve together, we must prioritize everyone's safety and ensure volunteers can work safely in busy areas while also following proper state food-handling procedures. In Colorado, proper food handling and food safety practices are required under state food safety regulations for covered food establishments that prepare or serve food to the public.

  • The organization must follow applicable food safety requirements, including appropriate hygiene, sanitation, and safe food handling for our community.

  • Youth volunteers ages 15–17: The age restriction is set by The Salvation Army's Colorado Springs Corps safety policy based on the busy environment, limited space, supervision, and food safety.

  • Supervision and safety: If youth volunteers are helping with food service, the tasks they perform should be appropriate and safe for their age, and events should follow applicable rules.

**Available Shifts**

Please keep in mind that all shifts are filled on a **first-come, first-served basis.**

The number of volunteers permitted for each shift is limited according to the specific staffing needs and available workspace. Our managers and staff have carefully coordinated the available shifts to ensure each area has the appropriate number of volunteers and to prevent overcrowding in those areas to meet the needs of the events.

Thank you again for your interest in volunteering with The Salvation Army Colorado Springs Corps during the holidays! We are grateful for your support and for everyone who helps us serve our community during this special time of year. We look forward to the possibility of serving alongside you!
