The Salvation Army is seeking caring volunteers to participate in our annual Back-to-School Shopping Spree on Thursday, August 27 at Fred Meyer in Burlington.
Each volunteer will be paired one-on-one with a child or teen to shop for brand-new school clothes for the upcoming school year. This special event provides students with the opportunity to begin the year feeling confident, comfortable, and ready to learn. Each child will receive $200 to shop.
Prior to the event, each volunteer will receive a shopping information sheet that includes the child's clothing sizes, shoe sizes, and personal preferences to help make the shopping experience fun and successful.
To allow each child to enjoy this experience independently and to ensure a consistent shopping process, parents and guardians will not be present during the shopping event.
This is more than a shopping trip—it's an opportunity to encourage a young person, build their confidence, and make a lasting difference in their life before they head back to school.
If you have a heart for serving children and can spare a few hours that morning, we would love to have you join us!
