Thanksgiving Meals for Shelter Residents (2025)
The Salvation Army Bell Shelter

MISSION

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

PURPOSE

To support The Salvation Army in serving Bell Shelter residents a warm Thanksgiving meal

VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set the tables with tablecloths, placemats, cutlery, and other decorations.

  • Covers three separate meal services to three groups of residents. Each volunteer will be responsible for hosting 1-2 tables (4 residents per table) and will be serving residents their drinks, meals and dessert, in addition volunteers will need to clear the tables they are hosting and re-set the table settings in between meal groups.

  • Gather all trash, break down chairs and tables, and clean up the area.

REQUIREMENTS

A heart for others

Able to lift up to 15 lbs.

Please note, we can only accomodate up to 12 individuals in a group due to limited volunteer slots.

Restrictions: Must be at least 16 years old (Any minors must be accompanied by an adult) Must be comfortable working with vulnerable populations
