The Salvation Army South of Market Area urgently requires volunteers to help serve those vulnerable members of our community experiencing food insecurity.
The unique position of Pantry Greeter is responsible for acknowledging and welcoming pantry guests upon arrival.
This position is also responsible for overseeing guest safety as they await entry to the pantry
As the entrance is via a public alleyway this role includes monitoring passing traffic and so does include associated risks.
Volunteer Pantry Greeters must be comfortable with all aspects of this role.
Training, supervision and high-visibility vest provided.
Timeframe: Every Friday - 7:30am-10:00am.
Volunteers required: 2 volunteers each week.
The Food Pantry takes place in the parking lot at 850 Harrison Street. Volunteers may enter from either Clara Street or Harrison Street. Street parking is available on both streets.
Registration is suggested but not required. Walk-ins are welcome!

| Restrictions: | Moderate to heavy lifting (10-50 pounds). Must be able to stand, walking and/or squat while carrying out tasks. Cantonese/Mandarin, Vietnamese or Russion is a plus but not required. |
