Colorado Springs Corps

We have various areas that need your help! Please be patient for scheduling onboarding as this is a first come first serve and there is only one person for onboarding/out processing individuals and coordinating events as well. Thank you for your patience and for choosing The Salvation Army Colorado Springs Corps.

The Salvation Army Colorado Springs Corps does NOT ACCEPT:

  1. Adult Violent

  2. Adult Theft

  3. Adult Misdemeanor or Felonies

  4. Juvenile - including those sentenced as an adult, theft, violent , misdemeanor(s) or felonies.

5. Adult Non -Violent Offenses: Adult non-violent offenses are broadly categorized as crimes that do not involve the use or threat of force, nor cause physical injury to another person. These are typically classified under crimes against property, morals, or public order without weapons and non-violent.

  • Theft- Knowingly obtaining or exercising control over anything of value without authorization, where no force or threat of force is used.

  • Criminal Mischief -Damaging the property of another, such as graffiti or vandalism.

  • Trespass- Unlawful entry into or remaining on another person's property, including second and third-degree criminal trespass.

  • Burglary- (Non-Residential/Unarmed) Lower-level burglary charges involving unoccupied commercial buildings without weapons are treated as non-violent.

  • Fraud – Including insurance fraud, check fraud and credit card fraud.

  • Forgery – Creating, altering or possessing forged documents or academic records

  • Identity Theft- Using another person’s personal identifying information without permission.

  • Disorderly Conduct - behavior that disrupts the peace but does not involve physical assault.

  • Public Intoxication or Open Container –Minor alcohol-related violations

2. Traffic Violations:Minor traffic infractions are civil matters, meaning they are not felonies and do not even qualify as criminal misdemeanors. Infractions only result in fines, surcharges, and potential demerit points on your driving record.

  1. DUI/DWAI - (Driving Under the InfluenceOR Driving While Intoxicated), Standard driving under the influence charges that do ot involve accidents causing injury or death that is treated as "unclassified" misdemeanors.

  2. Minor Traffic Infractions are Civil Violations.

Class A (more serious and points assessed on your license)

  • Speeding - Specifically traveling less than 25 mph over the posted limit.

  • Failure to Yield- Not yielding at intersections or to emergency vehicles.

  • Following Too Closely- Tailgating.

  • Running a Red Light or Stop Sign - Failure to stop or observe traffic signals.

  • Driving Under Restraint- Operating a vehicle while your license is suspended for non-alcohol-related reasons (e.g., unpaid tickets).

  • Open Container- Driving with an open container of alcohol or marijuana.

Class B (less serious, no points on license):

  • Speeding - (often under 20 mph over), running red lights/stop signs, improper lane changes, failure to yield, and seatbelt violations.

  • Seatbelt Violations- Not wearing a seatbelt.

  • Expired License/Registration- Driving with a license or registration expired for less than one year.

  • Missing License Plates- Operating a vehicle without visible plates.

  • Unauthorized Minor Driving- Permitting an unauthorized minor to operate a vehicle.

  • Illegal Window Tinting- Exceeding state tint limits.

  • Expired Registration/Insurance- Driving with expired tags or no insurance.

  • Equipment Violations- defective brake lights, no turn signals.

  • Painting

  • Removal/Relocating office furniture and building furniture

  • Hope Market–Distribute, gather, organize, and maintain food items with coordinator

  • Area Beautification- Cleanup and maintain grounds

  • Food Service-Kitchen/Café duties

  • Special Projects or Events –UPS talents must fit to the need of the project(s)

  • Family Hope Center- cleaning, admin duties at Front Desk, painting, organizing, events and special projects for events.

Family Hope Center, 709 S. Sierra Madre Street

Various Day Shifts are available every day including Saturdays and Sundays, at this location!

  • Monday - Friday: Open Various day and evening shifts

Restrictions: We accept from 18+ Adult Misdemeanors, Non-Violent and traffic offenses. No adult violent, theft misdemeanor or felonies. TSA does not accept any Juvenile sentencing even those sentenced as adults.
