Join Our Food Pantry Volunteer Team!
Are you ready to make a difference in your community? We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us sort and distribute food to those in need. Your efforts will bring smiles and hope to many!
What You’ll Do:
Categorize and organize non-perishable food items and canned goods within the food pantry storage system.
Facilitate the distribution of pre-packaged food supplies to community recipients in accordance with program guidelines.
Perform essential operational tasks including cardboard breakdown, removal of expired inventory, and maintaining pantry cleanliness to ensure readiness for subsequent distribution cycles.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to engage professionally with the public, with dedication to serving un-housed and low-income populations
Capacity to lift and transport 20-pound food packages and maintain a standing position throughout shift duration. Must demonstrate self-sufficiency while also responding effectively to supervision.
Must be able to work independently. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting with multiple concurrent responsibilities and changing priorities. Must be able to work in a crowded space with multiple people.
Language Proficiency: Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish or English/Mandarin) are highly valued but not mandatory.
Commitment: we ask that volunteers in this role commit to one volunteer shift per week for a minimum of 3 months.
Screening Process: Requires an interview over the phone, a background check, three references, and online training.

You will also be sent a background check form to fill out.

Your application will be processed
Once you are cleared there are a few on-line training courses for you to complete
Once this is completed you will be sent a link to sign up for shift or set up a shift with your site manager
Please Note: All volunteers must be at least 18 years old. We are NOT accepting court-ordered volunteers at any of our locations.
