Job Title: Senior Nutrition Center – Line Manager
Reports To: Deborah Reynolds & Kitchen Staff
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:45am-12PM / (Need 1 volunteer per day)
Position Overview: The Senior Center Line Manager is responsible for collaborating with check-in helpers, center staff and program manager with ensuring smooth operations of the Senior Nutrition Center. This role is essential for creating a welcoming environment and ensuring that members of the center receive nutritious meals on time and receive the necessary support.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Meal Distribution Line: Oversee the line of seniors waiting for meals, ensuring it runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Assist Participants: Offer friendly assistance to seniors in line, ensuring they receive the correct meals and addressing any special needs or concerns.
Maintain Order and Safety: Ensure that the line remains orderly, and that safety protocols are followed.
Provide Support to Staff: Communicate with kitchen staff & volunteers to ensure that meals are ready for distribution and assist in replenishing food as needed.
Clean and Organize: Assist with maintaining the area, keeping it clean and tidy during and after meal distribution.
Report Issues: Report any issues or concerns with meal service or participant needs to the Program Manager.
Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for working with seniors.
Empathy and patience when assisting seniors, especially those with mobility or dietary concerns.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese or Mandarin a plus.
Working Conditions:
May be required to stand or sit for extended periods of time (up to 3 hours).
Please be aware this role requires indoor activity and is working with seniors (55+ years old)
Appropriate Attire: Please wear closed-toe shoes (not sandals, heels, flipflops). Shirts should be short or long-sleeved (no spaghetti straps, strapless, sleeveless, mid-riff showing or tank top types). Shorts/dresses/skirts should be longer in length, appropriate for comfortably bending and reaching items.

Age Requirements: 18 or older. You must be confirmed to participate. No walk-ins.
