UTAH REMOTE EDS Special Projects Coord.
Utah Service Extension

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army meets human need wherever, whenever, and however we can. FIRST, we assess the needs of each community in which we serve. We work to understand the obstacles, hardships, and challenges native to the area's particular population. NEXT, we build local programs designed to offer immediate relief, short-term care, and long-term growth in the areas that will best benefit the community. THEN, we offer the local programs to the local community, working to continually optimize their efficacy via spiritual, physical, and emotional service. Interested in operations, disaster relief, administration, nonprofit operations, and social services? This will be a great door-opener experience for you! We’d love you to join our team as we work on several priorities:

  • Community engagement: We need to keep relationships with volunteers and partners across the state of Utah, so you’ll help us execute thank-yous in efficient and personalized ways.

  • Volunteer recruitment and onboarding: We continually need to attract volunteers who align with our mission and can commit to consistent service. To help us with this, you’ll manage social media accounts across Utah and identify creative ways to attract volunteers through these platforms. You’ll also help intake, vet, and manage communications with emergency disaster services volunteers who sign up as we build capacity of disaster relief trained volunteers across the state of Utah. You’ll help us with the launch of a new training web software, entering all of our volunteer info, assigning trainings, conducting trainings, and contacting volunteers for updates.

  • Public safety/education: You’ll work on a Utah Highway Patrol program (the Stranded Motorists Program) focused on public safety, which would entail outreaching and onboarding vendors who want to work with us through this program. You’ll also help create educational trainings for this program, which especially supports individuals/families in rural areas of Utah.
