Position: Donation Pick Up Driver

Report To: Kristen Gimenez

Location: 3090 Homestead Road, Santa Clara

Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8am-10am (flexible)

Role Overview: We currently pick up from local grocery stores and are looking for help in picking up donations from these stores. Volunteers will receive training for all duties. The donation driver will use either their own vehicle or a fleet vehicle to pick up donations from designated stores. They will also help in sorting and weighing all donations received from these pick ups. Donations received from these pickups will be used for programs at The Salvation Army Santa Clara Citadel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Picking up donations

• Unloading the vehicle

• Sorting and weighing all donations received

Working Conditions:

May be required to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects.

Appropriate Attire: Please wear closed-toe shoes (not sandals, heels, flipflops). Shirts should be short or long-sleeved (no spaghetti straps, strapless, sleeveless, mid-riff showing or halter top types). Shorts/dresses/skirts should be longer in length, appropriate for comfortably bending and reaching items.

Required:

• Must be 21 and older

• have a valid California driver's license

• must be able to lift 25+ lbs.

• Must have valid insurance (to drive own car)

  • Must pass background check to use fleet vehicle
