Position Title: Deboning Turkeys Helper
Location: Senior Center – 359 N 4th Street San Jose CA, 95112
Date: Sunday, November 24th
Time Commitment: 11:30AM – 2:00PM

Role Overview: The Senior Nutrition Program is dedicated to the well-being of our senior community. We strive to improve their quality of life by providing essential food assistance and nutritious, hot meals.
As a Volunteer you will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen team. This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals who enjoy cooking, working in a team, and making a difference in the lives of others. Volunteers are crucial in ensuring that our Senior Nutrition Center operates smoothly and efficiently, helping to distribute food and maintain an organized and welcoming environment for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for breaking down whole turkeys, including breasts, legs, and wings. This role requires precision for detail as you will be deboning turkeys, removing bones and cartilage while preserving the integrity of the meat, and packaging them into food containers.
Help with cooking tasks under the guidance of the kitchen staff.
Set up and clean workstations and dining areas.
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
Qualifications:
•No prior kitchen experience required; training will be provided.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•Team player with good communication skills.
•Must adhere to safety and hygiene protocols.

Working Conditions
May be required to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Please be aware this role requires indoor activity and is working with seniors (55+ years old)
Appropriate Attire: Please wear closed-toe shoes (not sandals, heels, flipflops). Shirts should be short or long-sleeved (no spaghetti straps, strapless, sleeveless, mid-riff showing or tank top types). Shorts/dresses/skirts should be longer in length, appropriate for comfortably bending and reaching items.
