The Volunteer Bell Ringer helps raise critical funds during the holiday season through The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettle Campaign. By ringing the bell, offering a smile, and spreading holiday cheer, volunteers inspire generosity that directly supports families and individuals in need with food, shelter, and vital community services. This role is about more than fundraising—it’s about building community, sharing kindness, and being a visible ambassador of hope during the holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Stand at assigned kettle locations during designated shifts.

• Greet community members warmly with a smile and positive attitude.

• Ring the bell and encourage donations with kindness and gratitude.

• Keep the kettle in sight at all times to ensure its security.

• Thank every donor sincerely—whether with a “Thank you” or “God bless.”

• Dress appropriately for weather conditions (outdoors) and wear comfortable shoes.

• Optional: Share talents such as singing or playing instruments to add joy and attract donations.

Qualifications:

• Friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic about spreading holiday cheer.

• Ability to stand for up to 2–4 hours at a time.

• Dependable and punctual for assigned shifts.

• Groups, families, businesses, and individuals welcome!

• Volunteers under 16yrs require an adult chaperone.

Schedule & Time Commitment:

• Shifts generally run 2–4 hours between November 1st and December 24th.

• Volunteers may sign up for one shift, multiple shifts, or a recurring schedule.

• Locations and times vary depending on community partnerships.

Additional Information:

• Orientation and support provided prior to your shift.

• Letters of recommendation, service hours verification, and group recognition are available.
