Volunteers for this position must be at least 16 years of age or older. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Volunteers are carefully paired with opportunities that align with their skills and experience, and comprehensive on-site training is offered to ensure their preparedness.
All Salvation Army volunteers may undergo a background check upon staff request or after completing eight hours of service.
School's Out Snack Prep Volunteer ResponsibilitiesSchool's Out Snack Prep volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring that children participating in The Salvation Army of Nampa's youth programs receive nutritious snacks. Responsibilities include:
1. Preparing Snacks:Assist in the preparation of snacks and light meals for the youth programs, ensuring food is handled safely and hygienically.
2. Organizing Food Items:Organize and set up food items for easy access during snack times, making sure everything is well-stocked and accessible.
3. Maintaining Cleanliness:Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen and snack area by regularly cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and storage areas.
4. Monitoring Supplies:Keep track of snack supplies and notify staff when replenishments are needed.
5. Assisting with Distribution:Assist in the distribution of snacks to children, ensuring each child receives a balanced and adequate portion.
6. Supporting Special Events:Assist with food preparation and distribution for special events or activities as needed.
