Volunteers for this position must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Volunteers are carefully paired with opportunities that align with their skills and experience, and comprehensive on-site training is offered to ensure their preparedness.
All Salvation Army volunteers may undergo a background check upon staff request or after completing eight hours of service.
Day Resource Center Host Volunteer ResponsibilitiesDay Resource Center host volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of The Salvation Army of Nampa's Day Resource Center. Responsibilities include:
1. Greeting Clients:Welcome clients in a respectful and compassionate manner, helping them feel comfortable and supported.
2. Assisting with Services:Help clients navigate the available services, such as laundry, showers, and food resources.
3. Scheduling Facilities:Schedule program participants for the shower and laundry facilities, ensuring fair and organized access.
4. Maintaining Cleanliness:Ensure a clean and organized environment by regularly cleaning and sanitizing common areas and service facilities.
5. Providing Information:Answer basic inquiries about the Day Resource Center's services, operating hours, and additional Salvation Army programs.
6. Monitoring Supplies:Keep track of supplies and notify staff when replenishments are needed.
7. Supporting Events:Assist with special events or activities held at the Day Resource Center as needed.
