Angel Giving Tree toy organizing and distribution
Washington County HOPE Center

We're sorry, but this opportunity is in the past and online registration is closed for this opportunity. You may select a different opportunity, or you may contact the volunteer coordinator to see if any other opportunities are available in your area.

In a typical year, The Salvation Army puts new clothes and toys under the tree for one million children who usually must go without Christmas gifts. Anonymous donors adopt these little "angels,” and businesses host trees and collect toys. Here in Washington County, we will provide Christmas gifts for 400-500 families. We rely on volunteers to help us sort thousands of new toys according to age group and type, as well as package them for each family to receive.

Each shift will begin with a brief orientation and training.

December 14th, 15th and 18th Volunteers will help us sort thousands of toys and package them for families to receive. It is an experience you will remember as we go through the bounty of toys and gifts that come in from all over the community.

December 19th, DISTRIBUTION DAY Each family is given an appointment time. As people come to receive their gifts, volunteers welcome them upon arrival, check people in, distribute gifts, help carry presents to vehicles, and share Christmas joy.
