On Saturday, July 27, 2024, The Salvation Army will partner with JCPenney at Spectrum Mall (5265 S. Calle Santa Cruz) to host the Back-to-School Child Spree, our annual, back-to-school shopping program for disadvantaged children in Tucson. This year’s event will host 150 less-fortunate youth, ranging in age from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Each child will receive a $150 JCPenney gift card for new clothing and shoes as well as a new backpack filled with essential school supplies!

We're currently seeking enthusiastic and energetic volunteers (18+) who are willing to donate their time to accompany students as they shop and help them make wise buying decisions.

For only a few hours of your time, you can build a positive experience for a child that will last a lifetime!

PLEASE NOTE:

Volunteers MUST commit to arriving by 6:45 am on the event date for training purposes. Volunteer time commitment is approximately three hours. Please do not bring children with you to volunteer. Only volunteers (18+) who have submitted the required volunteer paperwork and received a confirmation email from the Volunteer Coordinator will be allowed to participate!
