2024 Family Services Helper

Family Services Volunteer Helper in San Jose. Select Mondays-Fridays, Morning Shift/8:45am-12:15pm

Description: Outside activity, limited contact with clients. Need 2-3 volunteers who will check-in clients by scanning food cards or other recording measures during drive-thru and walk-up food distribution. They will also give registration info to new clients and be trained to enter client info into database. After program, volunteers will help clean and tear-down area.

If you are a bilingual, what language(s) do you speak fluently?

Appropriate Attire: Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, (no sandals, flipflops, heels or open-toe shoes). Shirts should be short or long-sleeved shirts, (not spaghetti straps, mid-riff showing, sleeveless, tank top type shirts). Shorts/skirts/dresses must be longer in length appropriate for bending, reaching or lifting.

Required:

1. Register on-line (includes waivers)

2. Schedule Volunteer Orientation ~15 minutes before participation

3. Megan's Law Registry check & clearance

4. Initial USDA Civil Rights Training Form

5. Age Requirement: 18 or older

6. Background check for 20 hours or over

Volunteers are no longer required to wear face masks, but it is still strongly recommended.
