2022 Thanksgiving Meal Deliveries - San Francisco
The Salvation Army Harbor Light

We are sorry, but all shifts are full and registration for this opportunity is currently closed.

For over 60 years, The Salvation Army has delivered Thanksgiving meals to around 4000 homebound seniors and disabled adults.

The elderly and housebound adults in our community have been impacted more than most as they experience even more isolation than usual from the pandemic. The special touch of a fresh holiday meal and a warm greeting from our volunteers will be extra special this Thanksgiving!

COVID-19 Measures:

You may be required to wear a mask or have your temperature taken at some facilities before entering.

We need volunteers for:-

  • Greeters - Greet drivers and make sure their paperwork and routing information is ready for check-in

  • Check-in - check-in drivers and collect paperwork

  • Traffic control

  • Load-in - load food boxes into vehicles

  • Meal Delivery - drivers must have their own vehicle AND at least one passenger to accompany you on deliveries. (We cannot match drivers with passengers. Thank you for your understanding!)

Notes for delivery shifts:

  • 20 meal routes (1 box of fresh food and 1 box of non-perishable)

  • 40 meal routes - less stops but more deliveries at those stops (2 boxes of fresh food and 2 boxes of non-perishable)

  • (NOTE: Drivers - please only reserve ONE SPOT PER VEHICLE.

  • If reserving a spot for a 40 Meal Route Shift, please ensure you have space for 4 food boxes. Thank you!)

Thank you for sharing your Thanksgiving morning with us! We cannot do this without you and we appreciate your generosity of time.
