For over 40 years, The Salvation Army has delivered Thanksgiving meals to homebound seniors and disabled adults.
COVID-19 has impacted everyone, and the elderly and housebound adults in our community have been impacted more than most as they experience even more isolation than usual. The special touch of a fresh holiday meal and a warm greeting from our volunteers will be extra special this Thanksgiving!
COVID-19 Measures:
To ensure the meals can be delivered safely for our volunteers and clients, we have implemented a number of changes as follow
* Masks and social distancing for ALL volunteers (will be provided)
*We will be following Municipality & CDC Guidelines
We need volunteers for:
Pack Meals
Help load & unload food boxesinto & from vehicles when they return.
Make deliveries- drivers must have their own vehicle AND at least one passenger to accompany you on deliveries. (We cannot match drivers with passengers- thanks for understanding!).
Notes for delivery shifts:
We are planning for 40 Delivery Routes. 10-15 delivers per meal route (1-2 food coolers)
NOTE: Drivers - please only reserve ONE SPOT PER VEHICLE.
Thank you for sharing your Thanksgiving morning with us! We cannot do this without you and we appreciate your generosity of time.
