Food Pantry Volunteers Needed - SoMa
South of Market Corps Community Center

The Salvation Army South of Market location urgently needs volunteers to help serve the elderly and needy in our community by distributing food at our weekly food pantry. Each week we serve over 175 low-income households, largely elderly. Many of our clients speak Mandarin or Cantonese and volunteers who can speak either language are a plus.

Volunteers will assist with:

  • unloading and sorting food donations

  • distribute produce to clients

  • managing distribution line.

Timeframe: Every Friday - 6:45am-9:30am.

Volunteers required: 6 volunteers each week.

Proper social distancing and hygiene measures will be in place and volunteers and clients are expected to comply.

The Food Pantry takes place in the parking lot entrance, access from Clara Street (4th & Clara). Street Parking is free on Clara or Shipley until 11am.
