Volunteer Opportunities: Mon – Fri | Closed Sat/Sun

We appreciate all inquiries about volunteer opportunities. We seek energetic volunteers to help with all aspects of our daily activities and routines! All Volunteers should be able to lift boxes, bend, walk safely, stand for extended periods, be friendly, and help our guests without discrimination.

At our Kitchen facilities located in Seaside:

• 8am – 3pm Daily ( 8am - 11am is the busiest and most urgent need for volunteers!)

• Meals are cooked and packaged for distribution each day at our Good Samaritan Center and across from Naval Postgraduate (NPS) location (Park area)

***Food Prep and packaging (Food Handlers card a plus but not required: Food Safety guidelines must be followed at all times)

• Cleanup - Dishes - put away - and prep for the next day!

• Opportunities are suitable for individuals and smaller groups of 4-6 people

Please note: A background check and fingerprinting may be required for all volunteers as we work closely with vulnerable individuals.

MAINTENANCE /FACILITIES: For Special Projects: We look for volunteers with handyperson skills to help with beautification projects such as painting, minor repairs, general maintenance, and outdoor grounds work. Moderate lifting, kneeling, walking, and standing may be required.

Suitable for individuals and small groups. Hours: 2 - 4 hours (or more) on weekdays by arrangement with our Facilities Team

At our Good Samaritan Center located in Sand City: Social Services Outreach

• Mornings: 8:30am - 11:30am - Help with processing/prep etc..

• - Help serve breakfast/lunch

• - Sort and assemble toiletry bags / towels for showers, etc.

• - Small clothing closet: periodic organizing

• Afternoons: 1-4pm Food Boxes prep and distribution

• - Sort/stock dried and canned goods

• - Prepare food boxes and "no cook" bags

• - Assist Clients out to vehicles with food boxes, etc.

• - Assist with cleanup, sweeping, etc. as needed

• Please Note: If a Good Sam recipient, it is a conflict of interest to volunteer at this location. You will be asked to pick another area
