Our Social Services Programs help provide essential services, showers, meals, laundry facilities, and food boxes for people who seek our help each day. We are seeking energetic volunteers to help with all aspects of our daily activities and routines.
At our Good Samaritan Center located in Sand City:
Mornings: 8:30am - 11:00am - Help with processing/prep etc.
Afternoons: 1-4pm Food Boxes prep and distribution
- Help serve breakfast/lunch
- Sort and assemble toiletry bags / towels for showers, etc.
- Small clothing closet: periodic organizing
- Sort/stock dried and canned goods
- Prepare food boxes and "no cook" bags
- Assist Clients out to vehicles with food boxes, etc.
- Assist with cleanup, sweeping, etc. as needed
At our Kitchen facilities located in Seaside:
8am – 3pm Daily ( 9am-noon is the busiest time of day)
- Meals are cooked and packaged for distribution each day at our Good Samaritan Center and Naval Post Graduate (NPS) location
- Food Prep and packaging (food handlers card a plus but not absolutely necessary)
- Cleanup - Dishes - put away - and prep for the next day!
All Volunteers should be able to lift boxes, bend, walk safely, stand for extended periods, be friendly, and accept our guests without discrimination.
Opportunities are suitable for individuals and smaller groups of 4-6 people
Please Note: A background check and fingerprinting may be required for all volunteers as we work closely with vulnerable individuals
